As part of its commitment to improve the economy of Los Angeles, Vermont Slauson Economic Development Corporation is seeking to contract with business consultants with small business experience in marketing, financial analysis, and general business consulting.

This Request for Qualifications (RFQ) is being released in order to solicit qualifications from individuals or entities interested in supplying advisory services to a group of retail businesses on a non-exclusive, as needed basis. The selected consultants will be working on the Microenterprise/Entrepreneur Program and the Targeted Retail Program of Los Angeles’ Community Development Department.

Applicants must meet the following requirements:

• Be bilingual (Spanish, Vietnamese, Philipino, Japanese or Korean)
• Have a minimum of 3 years of experience in small business consulting
• Be available for on site consultation
• Have strong general problem-solving skills and a thorough understanding of businesses operations.

Interested parties are invited to submit statements of qualifications, which should include their resume, a list of client references, a description of the services they offer and their fee schedule (on an hourly basis). Selection of qualified candidates will be based on their educational/professional credentials, the length and depth of their field experience, the cost of their services, and their involvement in community development projects.
